TransAT Tutorial Manual 6.2. countercurrent
• Fill in the fields of Phase 2’s physical properties as follows
Phase 2 ( Water )
General p r o p e r t i e s :
Density : 997.78
Viscosity : 0.000842
Thermal conductivity : 0.6114
Heat capacity : 4180.0
Simulation Parameters
This tab is used to define the numerical parameters of the simulation.
Simulation Type and Control Parameters
• Select Simulation Parameters on the left-hand side of the TransATUI
• Set the following parameters to solve for an unsteady flow
Simulation Type : Unsteady
Time Scheme : Euler 1 st Order
Total Simulation time : 1.0
Max Number of Time Steps : 1000
I n i t i a l Time Step : 0.01
Max number of i t e r a t i o n s per timestep : 20
Autorelaxation : ON
Relaxation f a c t o r : 0.60
• For Time Stepping select Adaptive then click
• Set the following parameters in the Adaptive Time-Stepping window then click to save
the settings and close the window
CFL Limits Min : 0.5 Max: 1.0
Please note: The Level-Set model can only be used with unsteady simulations.
Equations
In the Equation section of the window, the convergence threshold, as well as the convection
scheme and other parameters of the solvers used by TransAT are defined. These parameters can
be modified for each equation individually.
