TransAT Tutorial Manual 4.4. Film Boiling

• Copy the file initialconditions.cxx from the subfolder Tutorials/4.4 - filmboiling of the
Public/Documents/TransAT5.7 folder to your project folder.

• Select Advanced Initial Conditions

Several new icons are displayed. opens a text editor where the the initial conditions file can
be edited. However, there is no change to be made in this case.

• Click to compile the initial conditions. This step is optional and only checks that
the initialcondition.cxx file is written properly and can be compiled. The flow field will be
initialised later in the Execute window.

Output Management
In the Output Management tab, the parameters of the outputs for the simulation are set.
In this tutorial, only the visualization output will be defined.

• Click Output Management on the left-hand side of the TransATUI
• Set the Output File Format and Frequency of output files from Iteration / timestep
number as follows

Output F i l e Format : Paraview
Frequency of output f i l e s : 100

• Click to select the variables for which data is to be saved

• Activate the following variables in the Output Variables window then click to save the
settings and close the window

Pressure : ON
U−Velocity : ON
V−Velocity : ON
Temperature : ON

Material Properties
Density : ON
