Phase Properties
The Phase Properties tab is used to define the phases of the flow. It is possible to directly
use properties that are available in the material list. If the phase to be simulated is not in the
proposed material list, its properties can be directly entered in the corresponding fields. Here,
“custom” properties for the two fluids will be used. The fluid properties are based on Refrigerant
R-12.
• Click Phase Properties on the left-hand side of the TransATUI
• Select Phase 1 in the phase tree
• Fill in the different fields with the following properties
Phase 1
Density : 203.0
Viscosity : 1.57 e−5
Thermal Conductivity : 0.017659
Heat Capacity : 1.622 e06
State of Phase : Gas
Note that the Heat Capacity value is high to aid in quick computations.
• Select Phase 2 in the phase tree
• Fill in the different fields with the following properties
Phase 2
Density : 1218
Viscosity : 8.95 e−05
Thermal Conductivity : 0.0457
Heat Capacity : 1053
State of Phase : Liquid
