2.2.4.3 Input Tab
To select the models and set up the simulation parameters

• Click Input at the top of the TransATUI.

Physical Models

• Select the Physical models tab
• Select the following equations in the Basic Equations section
Basic Equations :
Pressure : ON
U v e l o c i t y : ON
V v e l o c i t y : ON
W v e l o c i t y : ON
Temperature : OFF
Concentration : OFF

• Activate Turbulence Modelling and set the model (drop-down list) to RANS. Default
options are used.

• Activate Gravity and click to the right.

• Set the following parameters in the Gravity window them click to save the settings
x = 0.0
y = 0.0
z = −9.81

Phase Properties
Since the Multiphase Flow Method is turned off, only the fluid properties of Phase 1 need be
defined.

• Click Phase Properties on the left-hand side of the TransATUI

• Highlight Phase 1 in the phase tree.
• In the Material Library drop-down list, select Air. The properties of the phase should
match the ones given below
Phase 1 ( Air )
Density : 1.205
Viscosity : 1.8208 e−05
