TransAT Tutorial Manual 9.2. Forced Convection in an Isothermal Pipe

• Click Input at the top of TransATUI.

Physical Models

• Select the Physical models tab

• Select the following equations in the Basic Equations section
Basic Equations :
Pressure : ON
U Velocity : ON
V Velocity : ON
W Velocity : OFF
Temperature : ON
Concentration : OFF

• Activate Reference Properties and click to the right.

• Set the following parameters in the reference properties window then click to save the
settings
Reference Velocity : 0.01
Reference Length : 0.2

• Click

• Enable Axisymmetry

Note that the reference properties only matter for the computation of non-dimensional numbers
and do not affect the simulations.

Phase Properties
The Phase Properties tab is where the phases of the flow are defined.

• Click Phase Properties on the left-hand side of TransATUI

• Select Air in the Material Library drop-down list.
