TransAT Tutorial Manual 10.3. Droplet Impact on a Flat Plate

10.3.6 Input Tab

• To set up the simulation parameters, click Input at the top of the TransATUI.

The different tabs to define the parameters of the simulation can then be selected.

Physical Models

• Select the Physical models tab

• Select the following equations in the Basic Equations section

Basic Equations :
Pressure : ON
U Velocity : ON
V Velocity : ON
W Velocity : OFF
Temperature : OFF
Concentration : OFF

• Activate Gravity and click to the right.

• Set the following parameters in the Gravity window them click to save the settings

x : 9.81
y : 0.0
z : 0.0
Enable Hydrostatic

• In the Multiphase section activate Interface Tracking and set the model (drop-down list)
to Level-Set

• Click

• Uncheck Implicit Treatment of Surface Tension

• Set Surface Tension to 0.728N/m then click to close the window

• Activate Axisymmetry in the Additional Features section
